The Grief Recovery Method®
The Grief Recovery Method is an action programme that sets out a number of steps for you to take to move beyond the pain and heartache caused by loss. It is different to traditional talking therapy as we teach you the tools to help heal your broken heart no matter what the cause.
The Grief Recovery Method teaches the correct exercises, in a step by step process, that actually allows the release of not only the pain, but the end to all those “I wish I’d said/not said, I wish I’d done/not done” thoughts that tend to keep grievers trapped on the mental hamster wheel of pain.
Once you have completed the course you are then empowered to use the tools as often as you need as more losses occur. This means you are receiving a skill of real value in your future life.
Is Your Heart Broken?
Is it due to a death, divorce or another major loss? If so you might feel sad, distracted, or confused. You are not alone.
The Grief Recovery Method has been helping people feel better following a loss for 40 years.
What We Do
The Grief Recovery Method helps grievers deal with those things they wish might have been different or better. It gives them the chance to address their dreams and hopes for the future, which is not the future they had planned. It helps them address the words left unspoken.
It supports them with the lost relationship that they thought would cause them pain for the rest of their lives. All these things may sound too good to be true, but research shows that this dream of a better tomorrow is very possible, thanks to the Grief Recovery Method Action Plan.
The Grief Recovery Method is an Evidence Based Program
The Grief Recovery Institute, are proud to say that research conducted by Kent State University has shown that The Grief Recovery Method approach to helping grievers deal with the pain of emotional loss in any relationship is “Evidence Based” and effective.
They are also proud to say that the programme is the only Grief Support Programme to have received this distinction of being evidence based!
What does Evidence Based mean?
The term “Evidence Based” means there is research that looked into how the Grief Recovery Method works and is published in a peer-reviewed journal. For this research, Drs. Rachael Nolan and Jeff Hallam published their results in two articles in “The American Journal of Health Education.”
They also presented these studies at several conferences.
What this means is that their studies show that The Grief Recovery Method goes beyond a “best practice” or “promising approach” in dealing with the emotional pain of loss. This means there is high confidence that those who follow the Grief Recovery Method can find happiness in their lives despite the loss they suffered.
